What storm is brewing
With the falling of dead stars
That lie along these alleys of sea foam?

Suicidal waves
Rise and crash
Into the throat of a gaping gulf
Which absorbs their wreckage
While swallowing sea shells

The sky hits rock bottom
Even the vultures flee away
From bewildered branches

Run for your lives, or
Resist

A cloud is crying its eyes out
At the foot of the unyielding iroko
Upright in its secular poise
It has certainly seen many
Of these torrential effusions
Which go down the drains
Without having fertilized
Neither a flower
Nor a heart

Un orage pas comme les autres

Quel orage s’annonce
Par cette tombée d’étoiles mortes
Qui jonchent ces allées d’écumes ?

Des vagues suicidaires
S’élèvent et s’écrasent
Dans la gorge d’un golfe béant
Qui absorbe leur naufrage
En avalant des coquillages

Le ciel est plus bas que terre
Même les vautours s’enfuient
Des branches ensorcelées

Sauve qui ne peut
Résister

Un nuage pleure tout son soûl
Au pied de l’iroko inflexible
Campé dans sa prestance séculaire
C’est qu’il en a vu d’autres
De ces épanchements torrentiels
Qui finissent dans les caniveaux
Sans avoir fécondé
Ni une fleur
Ni un cœur
